The New York City Police Foundation has invested over $100 million in 400+ programs designed to help the NYPD safeguard New York City.
The Police Foundation works closely with the Police Commissioner to identify and develop a strategic program agenda. Our current priorities focus on two critical challenges for the NYPD--reducing crime and protecting our city from global terrorism.

REAL TIME CRIME CENTER
The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) brings advanced technology and software applications to help fight crime. The RTCC is the centerpiece of a visionary plan to equip the NYPD with sophisticated crime fighting tools and prepare to meet the challenges of policing in the 21st century.

CRIME STOPPERS
Rewards up to $2,000 are paid for anonymous information to the 800-577-TIPS hotline that leads to the arrest and indictment of violent criminals. Over 5,000 crimes have been solved through calls to Crime Stoppers.

GUN STOP PROGRAM
Rewards for anonymous information to the GUN-STOP (866-GUN-STOP) hotline has lead to the arrest of thousands of individuals for possession of illegal weapons.

INTERNATIONAL LIAISON PROGRAM
The International Liaison Program assigns NYPD Detectives to key international cities: Tel Aviv, London, Amman, Singapore, Santo Domingo, Toronto, Montreal, Paris, Lyon, Abu Dhabi, and Madrid to collect and disseminate terrorism-related information relevant to NYC.

COUNTERTERRORISM OPERATIONS CENTER
The NYPD has created a unique counterterrorism and intelligence gathering capacity that is recognized worldwide. A $1.2 million grant from the Police Foundation helped establish the Counterterrorist Center, which serves as the headquarters for gathering, analyzing and disseminating information about threats to NYC.

SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS
Promoting professionalism and educational expertise of police personnel is fundamental to the Police Foundation’s mission. In 1972, the Police Foundation’s first program grant was a scholarship for four NYPD officers to attend the prestigious Bramshill Police College in England.
