New York City Is Getting Safer

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton today announced the city’s latest crime numbers and outlined the record low crime levels throughout the five boroughs.

“Crime is down in New York City and down dramatically in many areas,” said Police Commissioner Bratton. “Overall crime was down 4.4 percent at the end of November and the 35 thousand cops and the communities that work in partnership with them deserve the credit for keeping this city safe.”

Crime Stoppers & PVBLIC Foundation

The New York City Police Foundation, the only organization authorized to raise funds for the NYPD, received a media grant from the PVBLIC Foundation to raise awareness of its crime-fighting program Crime Stoppers. The grant provided advertising for the Crime Stoppers program across online media properties that are geo-targeted to the five boroughs of New York City.

The 2014 scholarship applications are now available for the Eugen Grabscheid Scholarship Fund, Manfred Pakas Scholarship Fund, and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York Scholarship Fund.

Eugen Grabscheid Scholarship Fund provides funding for dependent children of uniformed and civilian members of the New York City Police Department who are studying to become a medical doctor, dentist, psychiatrist, psychologist, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, physical therapist or veterinarian.
