INTERNATIONAL LIAISON PROGRAM One of the most highly regarded programs established under the leadership of Commissioner Kelly is the International Liaison Program. NYPD Detectives are assigned to key international cities: Tel Aviv, London, Amman, Singapore, Santo Domingo, Toronto, Montreal, Paris, Lyon and Madrid to collect and disseminate terrorism-related information relevant to NYC directly to the NYPD. COUNTER TERRORIST OPERATIONS CENTER
The NYPD has created a unique counter terrorism and intelligence gathering capacity to protect
New York that is recognized worldwide. A $1.2 million grant from the Police Foundation helped
establish the Counter Terrorist Operations Center which serves as the headquarters for the
gathering, analyses and dissemination of information about threats to NYC.

COMPSTAT The computerized crime mapping system, CompStat, enables the NYPD to track and analyze criminal activity and to deploy its resources for maximum effect. A Police Foundation grant provided the hardware and computer software for the prototype and matching funds for the citywide application. CompStat is widely acclaimed as a key factor in New York's dramatic drop in crime and has been replicated by police departments throughout the country. |

STOPPING COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE The trafficking of counterfeit goods is a global enterprise that supports a host of other illegal activities. Law enforcement agencies have linked profits from this trade to terrorism, drug smuggling and organized crime. In addition, child labor is widely exploited in the manufacture of these goods.
