New Fitness Center Opens at Staten Island’s 121 Precinct

The New York City Police Foundation, through the generous support of Board of Trustees Vice Chair Benjamin J. Winter, helped provide members of the NYPD with greater access to fitness resources by completing a new cardiovascular fitness center at the 121 Precinct in Staten Island.

The new facility officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 5 and is available to members of the service across four Staten Island precincts, serving more than 1,000 NYPD personnel.

With demanding workloads, varying tours, overtime assignments, and personal responsibilities, finding time for physical fitness can be challenging for members of the NYPD. The new cardiovascular fitness center provides a convenient and accessible resource, making it easier for officers to incorporate exercise into their schedules and maintain their physical well-being.

Expanding access to fitness facilities is an important part of supporting the health and wellness of New York’s Finest. The Police Foundation is grateful to Benjamin J. Winter for helping make this new resource possible and for his continued commitment to supporting the NYPD and its members!
