50 for 50 Renews Queens Basketball Court

The New York City Police Foundation’s 50 Grants for 50 Precincts program is revitalizing public spaces across New York City. Launched in celebration of the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary, the initiative commits $1 million to fund local projects at NYPD precincts.

At the Baisley Park Houses in Jamaica, the NYPD and the community, with Police Foundation funding, are renewing the basketball court where 14-year-old Aamir Griffin was tragically killed by a stray bullet in 2019, making it a welcoming space after a terrible tragedy.
