2026 Annual Gala Highlights

The New York City Police Foundation welcomed nearly 1,000 supporters to the Intrepid Museum on Thursday, June 4, 2026 for its Annual Gala, an evening dedicated to advancing public safety, strengthening communities, and honoring the service of New York’s Finest.

The Police Foundation was proud to recognize the courageous, dedicated members of the NYPD and to celebrate Honoree Andreas C. Dracopoulos, Co-President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Andreas, a longtime supporter of the Police Foundation and champion of the NYPD, who was presented with the 2026 Gala Honoree Award by Dr. Philip O. Ozuah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch.

Vice Chairman Benjamin J. Winter and his wife, Susan Winter, joined Police Commissioner Tisch in presenting the 2026 “Winter Family Cop of the Year” Award to Police Officer Demitrious Peterson, 71 Precinct, and Trustee Elizabeth Hemmerdinger bestowed the Hemmerdinger Awards for Excellence on six deserving members of the NYPD in recognition of their exemplary acts of public service in the line of duty (pictured below).

The Police Foundation extends its congratulations to all the honorees and heartfelt ‘thank you’ to award-winning journalist Rosanna Scotto, Co-Host of Good Day New York on Fox5, for serving as this year’s emcee.
