From helping students prepare for milestone celebrations to honoring the families who support our officers, the New York City Police Foundation is proud to support initiatives that strengthen these bonds and uplift the next generation.

Prom Impact: Building Confidence and Community Across New York City

For more than a decade, the New York City Police Foundation has proudly supported the New York City Police Department’s annual Prom Impact event, helping students across New York City prepare for one of the most memorable nights of their high school experience. Through this initiative, students are given the opportunity to select free prom attire, including elegant gowns, sharp suits, shoes, and accessories.

What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a cherished citywide tradition, reaching neighborhoods across all five boroughs. This year, hundreds of students participated, made possible by the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers alongside New York’s Finest. Together, the Police Foundation, NYPD officers, community members, and local businesses continue to ensure that every student can step into prom night with confidence and pride.

As we continue Building A Safer City Together, programs like Prom Impact play an important role in strengthening relationships between NYPD officers and young New Yorkers. By fostering positive interactions, mentorship, and community engagement, these moments help build trust and connection that extend far beyond a single day.

The event concluded with a vibrant runway show, where students showcased their looks with confidence, joy, and unforgettable energy—capturing the true spirit of the day.

A day of family, fun, and appreciation filled NYPD Headquarters as officers welcomed their children for “Take Your Kid to Work Day.”

This year, the New York City Police Foundation helped make the day even more special by sponsoring a festive food vendor, creating a joyful atmosphere for New York’s Finest and their families. The celebration was a small but meaningful way to recognize the loved ones who support our officers every day—those who stand behind the badge and share in the commitment to keeping New York City safe.
