Delivering Gratitude: Sharing Thanksgiving Meals Across NYC

The New York City Police Foundation is proud to have joined NYPD officers and members of the Police Department’s Options Youth Program at the 45 Precinct in the Bronx to deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in need. This effort is part of a larger Police Foundation initiative to provide more than 3,000 turkeys across all five boroughs to ensure that thousands of New Yorkers can gather around a holiday table this season.

Philip O. Ozuah, MD, PhD, Chairman of the Police Foundation’s Board, and Susan Birnbaum, President & CEO of the Police Foundation, joined officers on the ground, lending a helping hand and connecting directly with neighbors in the community. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to service, compassion, and partnership.

When most people think about police officers, they only think about them as crime fighters…but they are also members of the community who care deeply for their neighbors. The Police Foundation is proud to sponsor initiatives like the NYPD Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway to help the men and women of the NYPD serve their neighbors in need. — Susan Birnbaum, NYC Police Foundation President & CEO

A sincere thanks to everyone who made this citywide effort possible, from the dedicated precinct teams to the Police Foundation’s generous donors. Together, we’re strengthening community ties and helping to make the holiday season a little brighter for families across New York City.
