12 Sep 2026 Yankees Support The Police Foundation on 25th Anniversary of 9/11
On September 11, 2026, the New York Yankees Foundation honored the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a $25,000 donation to the New York City Police Foundation in support of the NYPD and its members.
Police Foundation Chairman Philip O. Ozuah, MD, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Montefiore Einstein, had the honor of attending the Yankees vs. Mets game at Yankee Stadium on September 11 to accept the ceremonial check on behalf of the Foundation.
The gift reflects the Yankees Foundation’s longstanding commitment to honoring the victims, survivors, and first responders whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11. Since 2001, the Yankees Foundation has supported charities, including the New York City Police Foundation, the FDNY Foundation, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Tuesday’s Promise, and the New York and New Jersey Port Authority Police Department.
The New York City Police Foundation is grateful to the New York Yankees Foundation for its continued partnership and generous support. This meaningful contribution on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 helps honor the NYPD members who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognizes the enduring commitment of New York’s Finest to protecting and serving our city.
Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will #NeverForget.
