Youth Tech Summit: Unlocking Career Pathways

The New York City Police Foundation, in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Thomas Edison CTE High School, hosted a Youth Tech Summit designed to expose students to career pathways in the rapidly growing field of technology. The event gave over 100 young participants the chance to learn valuable life skills and explore the exciting opportunities available in the tech industry.

Through the Foundation’s Options program, we aim not only to nurture critical soft skills but also to create pathways to success in the workforce. Our collaboration with corporate partners like AWS is an essential part of this mission, providing students with exposure to potential career opportunities in industries like technology.

This year’s Youth Tech Summit was a cornerstone event, showcasing the diverse careers in the information technology sector. Participants engaged in workshops and hands-on activities that highlight cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).

One of the highlights of the event was a panel discussion featuring AWS employees who shared their experiences and offered insight into careers within the information technology sector. This opportunity allowed students to learn directly from industry professionals, ask questions, and gain valuable advice on how to enter and thrive in the tech field.

By bringing their expertise to the Youth Tech Summit, AWS is helping to bridge the gap between education and industry, providing students with the tools they need to pursue careers in a growing and dynamic field.

The Youth Tech Summit is just one of many initiatives designed to prepare young people for success in the modern workforce. Through partnerships like this, the Foundation and our collaborators are investing in the future of our youth—ensuring they not only stay safe but also thrive and succeed in whatever paths they choose to take.
