During the Pandemic

When things are at their toughest, New Yorkers always step up to the challenge. It’s amazing to see the tremendous outpouring across New York City and beyond to help protect our officers on the front lines.
Andrew Tisch, Chairman of the Board, New York City Police Foundation

DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, the New York City Police Foundation has been able to help address the ongoing and changing needs of the Department as they bravely respond to the crisis.

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, the Foundation has provided the
NYPD with protective equipment such as masks, gloves and hand sanitizer, and coordinated the delivery of meals to precincts. The Foundation’s support also extended beyond supplies to providing hotel rooms for officers who needed to isolate themselves from family members at greater risk to complications from the Coronavirus.

  • Over 800,000 Masks Distributed
  • Over 200,000 Pairs of Gloves Distributed
  • Over 180,000 Containers of Hand Sanitizer Distributed
  • Over 7,900 Meals Distributed to Precincts
  • Over 8,000 Hotel Room Nights for Officers

This equipment will help keep our officers physically safe. But beyond that, it sends them a clear message - that their unwavering commitment to protecting people is deeply appreciated.
